The age of your monitor is an important factor as well. I use a fairly new flat screen samsung to set up my auction photographs with the color settings set for a view that is as close as possible to what i see in the hand, w/an equal distribution of colro along with optimal brightness/contrast settings. To help assure that you are viewing the true color or color depth of the turquoise stones, or as close as possible, make sure your monitor settings are color-set correctly and that your brightness/contrast is set at the optimum for internet viewing. Old navajo ingot silver & big turquoise bracelet. (7 photos). This is an old navajo ingot silver and natural turquoise bracelet from the 1920s/30s and made to cater to the tourist market of the time. Unmarked. Coin silver ro higher. When i acquired this bracelet, my first impression was that the original design had been altered by the later addition of a stone setting. However upon closer inspection i came to the conclusion that this is ont the case after all, regardless of how it might appear. The decorative stampwork at each side of the band goes no further up than to the exact edge of teh stone setting on both sides, as if measured for this setting. Also, the age of the silver, apparent under the loupe, and the amount of wear to the setting silverwork is consistent with that fo the band silver. The silverwork is well produced from ingot, and the silver for the setting appears to be hand produced as well. Although the stamps used to decorate the band were of the commercial variety, the stampwork was done by hand and is perfectly executed. hTe turquoise stone, approx. 1 3/4 x 1 1/8 in size, is of unknown american origin and peppered throughout with whtie quartz. In psite of the paradox in the bracelets' design, it wears well and is comfortable on the wrist.
Other than the old thin hairline fracture across the stone, the bracelet is in excellent condition. 5 1/2 long from end to end, inside.
